Megatron ed un gruppo di Decepticons sbandati, sono stati trasformati in micidiali guerrieri da un demone consuma-pianeti di nome Unicron. Adesso Galvatron, Scourge and Cyclonus devono distruggere la Matrice della Leadership degli Autobot, altrimenti Unicron distruggera' Cybertron. Optimus Prime predice che un Autobot si ergera' dal suo ruolo ed usera' la potenza della Matrice per illuminare l'ora buia degli Autobots.
